About

Welcome

At Heathfield we believe that every child is special and we aim to create a caring and stimulating learning environment in which all children can develop an awareness of their own worth and individual potential.

If you are considering sending your child to Heathfield and would like to meet the staff and see what the school has to offer, please do not hesitate to contact us so that a visit can be arranged.

About our school

Heathfield school is a community primary co-educational school. It does not have any religious affiliations. Heathfield School was opened in 1973. It is located approximately two miles south west of Bolton town centre.

There are seven classrooms which allow us to teach the children in seven single aged, mixed ability classes. The school has a well resourced library located in the junior department.  There is an I.C.T suite stocked with Apple Macintosh computers (these have also been set up to run Windows software).  There are two smaller suites located in the infant department.  All classes from Reception upwards are timetabled to use the main Apple suite. The hall is in use all day for assemblies, PE and music lessons and for meals at lunch time. The school has its own kitchen which produces excellent meals for the children.

The Reception class has a large self contained room with its own entrance, cloakroom and toilets. There is dedicated access from the Reception classroom straight into the Reception play area which is fenced off from the main infant yard. This provides an excellent opportunity for the children to take part in outdoor learning experiences.

Outside there are green fields and open spaces around the school. We have two playgrounds and extensive grounds which the children have access to – weather permitting. Both playgrounds have a fort play area. The school grounds also provide extensive outdoor learning opportunities, with the school having an allotment area, an outdoor theatre, a meadow and orchard area and a pond.

All the staff at Heathfield, both teaching and non teaching, form a hard working team whose aim is to provide a stimulating and happy learning environment in which all children are seen as individuals and given the opportunity to develop to their full potential in all aspects of school life.   This is what some of our pupils think of Heathfield Primary School.   “At Heathfield Primary School our teachers give us fun and exciting work to do. We are never bored!”  Humairaa (Year 5).    “At Heathfield Primary School, my favourite thing about it is the fun lessons we have. I like PE and Maths.” Maryam (Year 5)    “I think Heathfield Primary School is the best because I  really like all the teachers, they are polite and really helpful also I like all my friends because they are the best. The School football team (run by Mr Mitchell) is the best because we all get a chance to play a match. All my friends are also really helpful and caring that’s why there are my friends!
